This year, John Forse and a group of local volunteers made tow-in surfing history by hosting the first annual big wave tow-in contest; the first and only tow surfing contest held in North America.
The reef is now a regular stop for some of the world's best big wave surfers. Watch as visiting pros and a handful of local surfers charge huge winter reef breaks and score countless barrels surfing what we like to call the Nelscott Reef Beachbreak.
